Mala is the Sanskrit word for garland. These meaningful pieces of jewellery have been used for centuries as meditation aids and to help people set intentions.
A Mala is a beautiful piece of jewellery comprised of gemstones or beads infused with meaning. Malas take on an even deeper meaning when you make them for yourself. The idea is to think about what you need most in your life at present and infuse your Mala with an intention. It becomes a physical representation of your manifestation and something you can think about when you wear it.
In this Mala making workshop, join Sarah from Red Mandala as we create our own 21 bead elasticised bracelet from an assortment of natural gemstone beads and precious metal-plated accents.
Following this, Sarah will guide you through the process of making your own modern version of a Mala necklace.
Using the traditional number of 108 beads (a powerful number in astrology and various spiritual practices), our Mala necklaces contain no knots creating an easy to wear necklace from a beautiful selection of natural gemstones beads.
This workshop will take approximately an hour and a half.
Please note that some of the essential components of your Mala creations may not be suitable for those with metal sensitivities.
Saturday – choose from two 30 mins bracelet sessions, cost $60 pp
Sunday – 90 mins necklace workshop, cost $90 pp
